 De ellenlange titel werd herleid tot zijn essentie en op het plat aangebracht met 23 kt goud.

The lengthy title of the book was reduced to its essence and gilded on the front board with 23 kt gold.

Het boek betreft een exemplaar van "Catalogue des livres rares et précieux, la plupart en belles reliures ... composant la bibliothèque de feu m. Capé; dont la vente aura lieu le lundi 27 janvier 1868"

Het leder wordt tevens ook al voorzien van binddrukken. Onder andere  door gebruik te maken van koperen lijnen (voor hoogdruk) en een rasterdruk.

The leather is also already finished with blind impressions. Among other things, by the use of copper lines (for printing presses) and a screen printed.

De omslag wordt vervolgens bekleed met leder. De opbouw vertoont dus veel gelijkenis met een ingekast boek.

The boards are then covered with leather. The structrue has  much resemblance to a case binding.
