De omslagbekleding van het boek is in slechte staat. De hoeken zijn versleten, het kapitaal aan de staart is zichtbaar, het scharnier en de naaitouwen van het voorste plat is helemaal gebroken. Duidelijk zichtbaar is ook dat de de borden heel wat materiaal missen aan de hoeken. Verder heeft het leder duidelijke tekenen van lederrot. Dit wordt geen gemakkelijke klus om te herstellen.
